Students from Warwick Schools Foundation schools are celebrating another spectacular results day, with record breaking grades.
At King’s High School, pupils have achieved record results with more than 35% of all grades awarded at the highest possible grade 9.
Of the 120 students in Year 11, 58% of all grades were awarded at grades 9–8 and 78% at grades 9–7. The year group has also achieved record value-added scores for the school, reflecting the exceptional progress students have made from Year 7 through to their GCSE examinations. Results were particularly strong across a wide range of subjects. In English Language, 70% of grades were at 9–8, alongside 68% in English Literature and 60% in Drama. In Religious Studies, 81% of grades were at 9–8, while 90% of German students achieved grades 9–8. In Latin and German, 88% of grades were at 9–7. There were also outstanding performances in Music, where 100% of grades were at 9–8, and Religious Studies with 96% at 9–7. In Mathematics, 51% of grades were at 9–8, while Biology saw 59% at 9–8 and French 93% at 9–7.
Students at Warwick School have also attained exceptional results, with 55.3% of all examinations awarded grades 9-8 (A*/A equivalent).
More than three-quarters of all grades (76.4%) were awarded at grades 9-7, while the average points score per subject was 7.5. The average total points score per pupil was 70.5, equivalent to ten A grades across a typical GCSE programme. Notably, the most frequently awarded grade across the cohort was the highest available grade: a 9.
The cohort’s success includes a number of exceptional individual achievements. Five pupils secured a full set of grade 9s, while a further two achieved all grade 9s alongside a single grade 8. Twenty-one pupils achieved all grades at 8 and above, while 48 pupils received grades of 7 or above in every subject.
The strength of the results was evident across the curriculum, with 15 departments recording 50% or more of their grades at 9-8, demonstrating the depth and breadth of academic excellence across the school.
And on the Foundation’s Leamington campus, students at The Kingsley School have also been celebrating outstanding results with 63% of all grades awarded at grades 9–7, nearly three times the national average. These exceptional outcomes reflect the sustained commitment, resilience and determination of students throughout their studies.
70% of students exceeded their target or expected grades by more than one grade, demonstrating the outstanding progress made by students at Kingsley and the impact of the support and dedication of our teaching staff. The School is also celebrating five students who achieved 100% of their grades at grades 8 or 9, highlighting the exceptional academic achievements across the year group.
The results across the Foundation’s schools represent a significant achievement for the students and are a testament to their hard work, alongside the commitment and support of teaching staff.
