At Warwick Schools Foundation we have two options for families looking for pre-school options for their child: Kingsley Explorers at The Kingsley School and The Squirrels Nursery at Warwick Preparatory School. Each offers a warm and welcoming environment, while benefiting from the experience, expertise and educational values of the wider Warwick Schools Foundation.

Kingsley Explorers

Kingsley Explorers is a new day nursery opening in September 2026 at The Kingsley School in Royal Leamington Spa. Designed for children aged two to four, with plans to expand the provision to start from 6 months next year, the nursery will offer year-round provision within a bright, engaging and carefully designed learning environment.

Built on the idea that the earliest years should be filled with curiosity, confidence and a spirit of discovery, Kingsley Explorers will encourage children to learn through imaginative play, teamwork and exploration.

The nursery will be located on the ground floor of the Kingsley Preparatory School building and will provide places for up to 62 children, supported by a dedicated and experienced Early Years team.

Kingsley Explorers provides a joyful introduction to education, helping children develop imagination, independence and strong foundations for future learning.

• Opening Hours: 8am-6pm
• Provision: 51 weeks a year
• Age range: 2-4, with plans to expand to 6 month in 2027
• Size: Capacity for up to 62 children.
   

The Squirrels Nursery

For many children, life at Warwick Preparatory School starts in The Squirrels Nursery. We welcome children from the September after they turn three. Children enjoy a structured school day designed to gently prepare them for Reception, building confidence and independence.

We are proud to share that in our latest ISI inspection, Warwick Preparatory School met all five standards with our Early Years recognised as a Significant Strength, a distinction achieved by fewer than ten per cent of schools. This recognition reflects our deep understanding of the importance of imaginative play, creativity and nurturing a lifelong love of learning.

The Squirrels Nursery offers a rich, stimulating and secure learning environment, both indoors and outdoors which encourages children’s natural curiosity and enthusiasm. Our vision is for each child to be the best that they can be, to become happy, confident learners, keen to explore and try out new things.

We have three classes with a usual maximum of 20 children per class, each with a fully qualified teacher and experienced Early Years staff, allowing us to get to know each child and support their individual needs, ensuring every day is engaging, fun and inspiring and preparing the children for starting in Reception.

• Provision: Term time
• Age range: 3+
• Size: 60 children
