Mr David Tibbitts, Orchestra Course Conductor and Musical Director, set to lead the next generation of musicians

Warwick Schools Foundation is thrilled to announce that Mr David Tibbitts will be Conductor and Musical Director of the inaugural Orchestra Course, launching this summer.

David is currently Head of Brass and Music Outreach at Warwick School, where he leads more than 130 young brass players and oversees a diverse programme of ensembles, concerts and outreach initiatives.

A trumpet player since the age of 10, David was awarded a scholarship to the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, where he later continued his studies. During his time there, he performed with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and worked alongside internationally recognised artists such as Dave Holland, Maria Schneider and Elliot Mason. He has also toured nationally with a leading UK folk ensemble, performing at major festivals including Cropredy Festival, Shambala Festival and Towersey Festival.

As a performer, David has appeared across the UK and Europe at some of the world’s most iconic events, including Glastonbury Festival, the Monaco Grand Prix and toured with the England Cricket Team. He has also performed live on radio and was featured as a soloist on BBC 2 in the presence of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

Now an in-demand conductor and educator, David is passionate about inspiring the next generation, regularly leading youth ensembles and large-scale concerts, including performances at Symphony Hall. His work is driven by a commitment to ensure high-level music-making is exciting, accessible and unforgettable for young musicians.

David’s passion for teaching shines through, as he shares what makes the orchestra course so special:

“Musicians will spend a week playing some great repertoire, supported by an incredible team of tutors.”

Warwick Schools Foundation is committed to increasing accessibility to outstanding opportunities with first-class facilities and expert teachers which ensure this amazing musical experience for the whole community.
