Higher Level Teaching Assistant or Teaching Assistant - Warwick School

Warwick School is seeking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or Teaching Assistant from September 2025.

The post will be attractive to someone with previous experience of supporting individuals with SEND needs or teaching small groups of pupils. It is anticipated that a Higher Level Teaching Assistant will already have experience in one particular area of SEND support, either cognition and learning, communication and interaction or SEMH support. It is anticipated that a Higher Level TA will be willing and able to take further qualifications in SEND support to further the expertise that is already held in the Department.

The Teaching Assistant role will be working at the direction of the team and this could involve working with specific individuals or small groups depending on previous experience. Experience supporting pupils with a visual impairment or a physical difference for both roles is desirable.

The Higher Level Teaching Assistant or Teaching Assistant will report directly to the Head of Academic Support and SEND.

Salary : Higher Level Teaching Assistant Foundation payscale Point 25 - 28, which is equivalent to actual salary £25,054 --£27,478 (FTE £29,743 --£32.621) for 37 hrs per week, 37.4 weeks per year

Teaching Assistant role Foundation payscale Points 16 - 19, which is equivalent to actual salary £18,976 - £20,131 (FTE 23,800 --£25,349) for 37 hrs per week, 35.4 weeks per year.

The key areas of responsibility and duties which attach to the position are set out below. The list is not exhaustive, and the Higher Level Teaching Assistant or Teaching Assistant may be expected to assume additional responsibilities as reasonably requested by the Head.
